What is the FLAX Barn Sale?

The FLAX Barn Sale gets its name from our original headquarters: a converted dairy barn that once held our offices, warehouse, and daily operations. What began as a practical way to clear out past-season inventory quickly grew into a highly anticipated tradition — one that now draws FLAX fans from all over the country and Canada.

When COVID made indoor gatherings impossible, we adapted the Barn Sale in two new ways that customers embraced and asked us to continue:

Online Barn Sale

• Created during COVID to provide a safe, accessible option
• Now held once a year in winter
• First come, first served and final sale
• Offers remaining leftover quantities from past seasons

In-person Tent Sale

• Held outdoors once a year, typically in late spring or early summer
• First come, first served
• All items are final sale
• Features leftover pieces from prior seasons in limited sizes, colors, and quantities — often in more limited selections than the online event

Why We Do It

• Gives past-season pieces a responsible path forward after being offered at full price for an extended period
• Minimizes waste and supports sustainable inventory practices
• Allows customers to access FLAX at deeply discounted prices
• Preserves a tradition rooted in our earliest history and deeply appreciated by our community

Both the Tent Sale and the Online Barn Sale carry forward the same purpose: making room for what's next while giving past-season FLAX a chance to be worn, loved, and enjoyed.
