Every collection starts with a conversation, and Basics started with a pretty simple one: if we love our heavyweight homespun linen so much, why not offer it in the styles our customers already love most?
You’ll be seeing homespun again soon in Select, where we’ve kept the collection a little more elevated. Select is designed with seasonal dressing in mind—beautiful pieces for dinners, gatherings and events, but still comfortable and easy enough to wear every day.
But we also know that many of you simply love this fabric.
Our homespun is our heaviest weight of linen. It has more structure, more substance and wonderful durability. For those of you who wear linen all year long—or who just prefer a linen with a little more weight to it—it’s something special.
So this year, we wanted to give homespun another home.
Instead of creating new shapes, we went back to some of the styles that have proven themselves to be true FLAX crowd pleasers. The pieces you already know how to wear. The ones that have earned their place in your closets.
And that’s how Basics came to be.
We chose four tried-and-true favorites: the Floods, Flowing Pant, Jolly Jacket and V Pullover. Familiar, easy silhouettes made a little more substantial in our heavyweight homespun linen.
Then we chose three colors that feel just right for the season.
Pine is a soft evergreen, bringing in color while still feeling wonderfully neutral. Heather is a purpley mauve—soft, muted and easy to pair. And Coffee Bean is a deep, rich brown that can appear almost black, making it a beautiful alternative to the black we all reach for so often.
There’s nothing complicated about Basics, and that’s exactly the point.
Four styles that have already proven themselves. Three rich, wearable colors. And a substantial linen we know so many of you look forward to wearing when the temperatures start to drop.

But Basics? These are the pieces for every day.
Because for many of us, linen season doesn’t really have to end.
