We’ve always believed that clothing should feel effortless, comfortable, timeless, and true to the person wearing it. That belief hasn’t changed. What has changed is our curiosity.
After years of working exclusively in linen, we found ourselves wondering: what if we could take the craftsmanship, fit, and integrity you know and love, and explore them through new fabrics and shapes? What if we could offer something that felt fresh and modern, while keeping everything you trust about the way we make clothes?
That’s how Torah Byrne began.
Named for my children, Torah Byrne is a new project close to my heart, created by the same people, same suppliers, and same values that have shaped our work for decades. It’s not FLAX, but it comes from the same family: thoughtful design, responsible production, and a love of clothes that feel good to live in.
FLAX will continue exactly as it always has — your favorite linen, your trusted fits, your beloved Floods. But Torah Byrne allows us to stretch creatively, to try new textiles and silhouettes that bring a slightly different energy to our collections. Think of it as a sister brand: different personality, same heart.
The Cotton/Linen “Denim” Collection
Our first Torah Byrne group takes inspiration from the timelessness of denim. Reimagined in a cotton-linen blend that feels refined, breathable, and just structured enough to carry you through cooler seasons.
This fabric has less natural stretch than pure linen, so we’ve adjusted the fit slightly to maintain that easy feel you expect from us. It’s the first collection to introduce our new sizing scale, which may evolve as we experiment with future textiles.
The silhouettes are classic yet forward-looking:
• The long Trouser is a wide-leg style that moves like a dressy jean, polished but relaxed.
• The short Cuffed Pant shows off the fabric’s contrast beautifully and pairs perfectly with oversized sweaters and chunky boots.
• The classic Western Jacket has a slightly different fit than pieces we’ve done before, detailed and versatile enough for everyday wear.
• The Denim Shirt is intentionally oversized, balancing structure and ease that can be dressed up or down.
• The Harlow Tank provides wide straps and a square neckline that showcase the contrast stitching denim is famous for - simple, strong, and striking on its own or layered.
• The button-detail Denim Skirt is a perfect fall piece, made for pairing with boots and cozy knits.
Every bottom is a pull-on style with non-functioning buttons, capturing the look of denim while keeping the comfort you expect from us.
Care That Keeps Character
Because this fabric combines linen and cotton, a little extra care helps preserve its shape and color. We recommend machine washing cold on gentle and line-drying or tumbling on low heat inside out to protect the cotton fibers. This keeps the denim-like finish crisp, while letting the linen fibers relax naturally over time.
Each piece will soften and take on its own character with wear — becoming uniquely yours.
