As the year winds down, I find myself settling into the same rhythm as the school break—days that move a little slower, time carved out for family and friends, and quiet evenings where the simple comforts matter most. For me, that might mean curling up by the fire in my favorite UnderFLAX pajamas, wrapped in a hooded Wrapper, or living in my Floods, cuddling with the pets, and only disturbing them to refill my cup of tea.
That’s the intention, at least. In reality, my nights are often filled with a house full of giggling teenagers eating us out of house and home, cheering on my oldest at hockey tournaments, and the occasional sledding party at Grandma’s. It’s noisy and wonderful and a reminder that sometimes rest looks less like quiet, and more like laughter, love, and a little bit of chaos.
I’ve always believed in giving our staff that same gift of time. That’s why, each year, we close for about a week and a half during the winter break. It allows everyone at FLAX to rest, reset, and truly enjoy the people and moments that make life meaningful.
When we return, we’ll be recharged and ready to dive into what’s ahead—linen season in the spring. Until then, I hope you, too, find space to pause, to reconnect, and to savor the quiet (or not-so-quiet) beauty of this season.
Thank you for being part of the FLAX story. Your warmth, kindness, and love for comfort inspire everything we do. I can’t wait to share the next chapter with you.
